India Organic Congress, 2006 

The high level three day International Congress accompanying the India Organic Fair builds a unique platform to present developments, achievements, trends and research results of the organic sector, and to discuss up to date topics.
The India Organic Congress is organized by Organic Services together with ICCOA, the International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture.

“Parallel to the trade show, India Organic 2006 had two very important events: Congress and Organic Food festival. The Congress with its main theme Indian Organic Business Today Global & Local, was a huge success with nearly six hundred delegates attending. The Congress was inaugurated on the 10th November, 2006 and the inaugural session had such luminaries as Ms. Vandana Shiva, Mr. Volkert Engelsman from the Netherlands, Mr. Claude Alvares of the OFAI, Dr. Prabha Mahale (Board member IFOAM) as main speakers.

The Congress organized jointly with Organic Services, Germany, had Ms. Mildred Steidle representing it. 90 sessions with 9 themes were addressed by speakers selected from all over the world. A special addition this year was the SOC (State, Organization and Companies) presentations where stakeholders were invited to make presentations to selected audiences.” ... read further
