The new carbon calculation software, available since November 2010, simplifies the carbon assessment of product chains in agriculture, the food industry and trade, and enables you to carry out carbon assessments of product chains independently, based on a certifiable software tool. The software helps to identify CO₂ saving potentials throughout your product’s entire supply chain. Moreover, it enables you to position your company or product(s) with a unique selling point in the market.

Performance and benefits of the software

The carbon assessment software, a new module of the worldwide successfully used certification software Ecert, enables you to:

• Conduct an integrated collection of data relevant to the carbon assessment
• Carry out a computer-based, product-specific carbon assessment

Cooperation for the development of the software

Organic Services initiated the development of the software within a Public Private Partnership (PPP) project and functions as project coordinator in the implementation and continuous optimisation process. Our cooperation partners are:

• Soil & More International B.V., Ordering party and expert in methods and principles of carbon accounting, developed all assessment principles for CO₂ accounting needed for this project
• Intact Consult GmbH, Software development and programming
• TÜV NORD CERT, Compilation of expert report on the carbon assessment software

The project is supported financially by the „develoPPP.de“ programme of DEG, the German investment and development company. The PPP project runs until end of October 2011.
